Comments from participants
The training was very effective; we had most if not all the materials that were required which made the practicals very interesting. The facilitators were just excellent and the people rather staff of the training premises were good, even the accommodation. The problem came in when it came to food, we were subjected to the same type of food that became monotonous, and other participants were forgoing their meals. There is a great need to improve on food if the training is to take place at this venue in future. But all in all this type of trainings need to be taking place often as it helps in malaria microscopy a great deal, it is an eye opener. I enjoyed it and would be happy to see many acquiring this knowledge. In a few words I want to thank all the facilitators. They understood everybody, and they know how to teach someone to do something. About NCTA, this kind of training is very necessary for the microscopie
Thank you! BURKINA-FASO

The training was generally very successful. The travelling arrangements were very good. We left Lagos for Accra on the 6th October 2007 and arrived at about 400pm. We were received at the airport on arrival and were accommodated in a very good hostel-Jaira hotel. Our journey to kintampo on 7th October 2007 was well organised and safe.
The accommodation and the meals provided at the training venue –KHRC was good. The training was well organised and the facilitators did very well. The facilities for the training were adequate. I thank the MCTA for sponsoring me to participate in the microscopy training. I found the training very necessary and useful to my work and career. Once again thanks. NIGERIA

I thank MCTA to all it did to this training. We have leant many things and we want this kind of training by six months in the year. SENEGAL

The training was excellent, I appreciate all the facilitators for the knowledge they have, farther more the materials used in the training are very nice, the microscopes, handout, and the whiteboard, with an exception of our projector (overhead slides). In the case of accommodation there was no problem. Meal: the meal prepared was not nice at all it was difficult for us who came from far to eat that kind of meal daily, I hope there will be changes for the future. Travelling: our travel was so nice but we found no one to take us to kitampo at the airport (Accra) it gave us a lot of problems as this was our first time in Ghana, we spent a lot of money from our pockets to pay bills for the hotels, travelling to kintampo and the meals.
In my conclusion, this type of training is more beneficial, its very helpful and necessary. Aside of problems the training benefited us. Thanks TANZANIA

The training in malaria microscopy which was conducted at the KHRC for a period of three weeks as from 8/10/2007 to 27/10/07 took place well as per the schedule despite some few problems here and there. The facilitators tried their level best in imparting to the participants, the knowledge that was required .the equipment used, e.g. microscopes were fairly good. The participants, on the other were cooperative and ensured a smooth running of the sessions by being punctual all the time. Much improvement need to be done on the side of accommodation and food-wise many participants complained of the food type being local as they had come fro different cultural backgrounds. The diet (meals) were monotonous monolithic and not diversified for the different international cultural background  KENYA

We regards to the workshop itself. The facilitators did their best to teach us what we leafy ought to know about malaria microscope. All aspects of training. Including oral presentation and practical, were handled with excellence and professionation, facilities available for the training were also satisfactory. Services and quality with regards to meals eating need to improve. To conclude with. I will like to express my sincere gratitude to MCTA for the sponsorship to this all important workshop which had really elevated my skills in malaria microscope. Thanks TANZANIA

I was received at Accra airport around 4pm and taken to jaria hotel. Our travelling to kintampo was safe and well organised. The training started 8th October 2007-11-06 the facilitators are quite friendly, active and excellent during the training and they are adequate. I thank MCTA for sponsoring me to participate in the training program and found it useful for me and for my future carrier. Nigeria

MCTA first of all deserves thumbs up for cheering the training needs of young scientist. Secondly a special commendation ribbon to Christine and team for tirelessly delivering as expected. The training came or took place at a time it was deeply needed and surely it will serve the purposed special thanks to all the facilitators for one way or the other strive to the training. The accommodation chosen were very conductive for a student to find life easy and really feel at home. The services rendered were excellent. The meals served were satisfactory until I have chosen a choice from Ghanaian food called “red red”. Thought the distant from the capital to the training venue is far but the highway is very smooth and easy to drive on. the benefit I have got from this cannot be counted when I was coming for the training, is like a child in the cradle but at the end of the training I am now a graduate. Am finally urging the sponsors to please be organising a such training every three months.Gambia
